This is a personal project taken a few weeks ago on a very cold, early morning. I had the idea floating around in my mind for a few weeks after sourcing this location for another commission. I wanted to combine dance and movement, along with flowing, sheer material, to express the feeling of breaking free from the daily routine of life into a limitless world of our own creation. I was fortunate to have the lovely Daisy West, who has just finished studying dance at Ballet Rambert … A big thank you to Daisy who was so brilliant, especially coping with the particularly cold morning and chilly water.

This is my absolute favourite image of Daisy. I love her ability to fully embrace the spirit of the moment and she’s got one of the most amazing and infectious laughs.
